January 9, 2023

Do you have a ski trip planned this month? I have great news for you! The snow has been piling up in Crested Butte, enabling new, extreme terrain to open

Recently, snow has been dumping on Crested Butte. The last snowstorm dropped a jaw-dropping 45 inches of fresh powder on Crested Butte Mountain Resort in just over a week. There are no signs of it stopping, either, with OpenSnow predicting 9 inches predicted in the next five days, plus even more moving forward!

There's been so much snow that Crested Butte was finally able to open the North Face and High Lift T-Bars on January 5th, enabling guests to access their famous, extreme double-black diamond terrain! At long last, all 15 of the resort's chairlifts are running. The new extreme terrain added 255 acres of runs to explore, bringing the total accessible terrain to 1,163 acres.

Newly opened double-black diamond zones include: Schofield Road, Avery, Belleview, Rachels, The North Face, The Glades, Pinball, Powder Rock Glades, Eflin's Way, Headwall, The Last Steep, Hawk's Next, Hard Slab, Old Pro, Big Chute, and Paradise Cliffs.
